Erosion of a Sand Dune, 2019
Erosion of a Sand Dune captures the aftermath of an ecological event. It was noticed when passing through the landscape on a morning walk at the beach. A significant change had occurred as an entire sand dune had collapsed from a giant tide. This phenomenon felt significant against the destabilising events of environmental cataclysm and sea levels rising faced in the geological era of the Anthropocene Epoch.
Erosion of a Sand Dune is a photographic triptych. The large-scale photographs highlight the sculptural elements of texture, geometrical shapes, pyramid forms, organic forms with the use of high contrast and black and white photography. The resulting project examines whether a photograph of an abstracted landscape can represent the force and momentum of a collapse in nature.
